Madisonville is a small town located just west of Mandeville, LA and rests on the banks of the Tchefuncte River and Lake Pontchartrain. Every October the city, along with the Lake Pontchartrain Maritime Museum, hosts the “Madisonville Wooden Boat Festival” which draws 30,000 visitors and features hand crafted wood boats.
The city has experienced tremendous growth over the last ten years with many new residential and commercial real estate developments emerging. The new Joseph B. Lancaster Elementary School, which will be home to as many as 750 students from second through fifth grade, is scheduled to be open for the 2010-2011 school year.
