"Noel a Mandeville", a free holiday festival hosted by the Old Mandeville Business Association, will take place this weekend in Old Mandeville. The festival will be held on Girod St., and will kick off Saturday, Dec. 10 at 9 a.m.  Vendors will be on site selling arts, crafts, food and more at various booths.

“The Pet Promenade”, a holiday pet parade, will begin at 2 p.m. “The Inaugural Noel a Mandeville Christmas Parade” will follow at 4 p.m.

Musical performances will begin at 4 p.m. at the Lakefront Gazebo. The City of Mandeville’s “Winter on the Water” will begin at 5:30 p.m., with Donald Villere, Mayor of Mandeville, turning on the holiday lights. A holiday boat parade will conclude the evening.

Vendors will return to Girod St. on Sunday for the second day of the festival. “The Running of the Reindeer” will take place at 8:30 a.m. on Girod St. with the Northshore Roller Derby League. Also, the Old Mandeville Historic Association will host “Homes for the Holidays”, a historic home tour from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Tickets for the home tour may be purchased online, or at the Lakefront Gazebo beginning at noon the day of the tour. Tickets cost $25 each, or two for $40. For more information, visit www.OldMandevilleHistoricAssociation.org.

The festival will close Sunday with music by Ellis Marsalis at the Mandeville Trailhead on Lafitte St. He will perform songs from his latest album “A New Orleans Christmas Carol”.
